Mystic Seaport

Mystic Seaport – The Museum of America and the Sea – is home to four National Historic Landmark vessels, including the Charles W. Morgan, the last wooden whaleship in the world. Set to undergo a three-year restoration project later this year, visitors will still have the opportunity to climb aboard American history while she undergoes this extensive overhaul.

Additionally, Mystic Seaport is home to a re-created 19th-century seafaring village, a working preservation shipyard, formal exhibit galleries and the nation's premier maritime art gallery. Visitors can also discover stars under our planetarium dome and learn how celestial navigation aided sailors before there was GPS. Musicians and roleplayers also bring Museum to life – either through music (such as sea chanteys) or first-person storytelling.

Be sure to taste the flavor of a meal in our Galley, Tavern or acclaimed restaurant, Seamen's Inne Restaurant & Pub. Row or sail your own historic small craft. Cruise the river on Sabino, our coal-fired steamboat (and another National Historic Landmark). Explore the past. Today.

Mystic Seaport is the nation's leading maritime museum. Here we tell the stories of America and the sea. Stories that connect us all.
