Opening October 14, 2010, in Colorado, the Durango Discovery Museum (www.durangodiscovery.org) will be a one-of-a-kind discovery center for all ages. The museum will be an exciting new destination in historic downtown Durango and a catalyst for revitalizing the city’s riverfront.
Housed in the country’s oldest surviving coal-fired, steam-generated AC power plant, it promises to ignite curiosity, spark imagination, and power exploration.
The Discovery Museum will be home to hands-on science and energy exhibits for all ages, Sudden Science: an education outreach and summer camps program, Riverfront plaza and events pavilion, sustainability demo labs and Durango Discovery Kids: a world built just for visitors 9 years old and younger.
